ABOUT THE BRAS
As you may have guessed from my designs, I like to reveal what’s typically hidden.
Here’s a breakdown of what you’re paying for when you buy my bras:
Here’s a breakdown of what you’re paying for when you buy my bras:
THE BEADED BRA $160materials cost $33
labor cost $100
self-employment tax $20
shipping materials and operating expenses $7
THE STUFT BRA $135materials cost $8
labor cost $100
self-employment tax $20
shipping materials and operating expenses $7
THE PRODUCTION PROCESSIt takes me about 4 hours to make each bra, package it, and ship it. I’m giving myself $25 an hour for my time. Since I’m self-employed, I also have to cover the cost of my taxes. I am probably not charging enough for these things ... I haven’t even factored in the time that I will be spending on “business tasks”. But I want my accessories to be as accessible as possible to all my fellow hot broke people.
Additionally, 5% of the labor cost will always be donated to a non-profit or mutual aid organization. This comes out to $6 per bra. Currently donations are being sent to Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
ABOUT THE ME
Teddy Georgia Waggy is a fashion designer and musical artist. She has composed music for films and art installations, most recently in collaboration with Alex Bhore for the immersive art exhibit Meow Wolf.
However, she is a pop star at heart, having toured internationally and gotten a taste for the limelight. She is generally happiest when living in a van with her friends, reheating leftover queso in a stranger’s scratched saucepan at 3AM while discussing the majesty of the octopus, and which Mission was the most Impossible.
She has recently switched to the third person perspective after having written everything else on this website in the first.
